Mom and Dad Meet Maryland

My parents came out to visit us last week and their trip ended up being such a refreshing, perfectly-timed blessing!  We gave them a little introduction to our lives here, and they had so much fun seeing our place and getting a little taste of what we do every day.  We had some great meals together, celebrated Brandon's 23rd birthday, and made day trips to Washington, D.C. and the Eastern Shore.

As you can see, Brandon is a man of varied interests.  His presents ranged from The Complete Works of Plato to some blast from the past movies like Beethoven and The Mighty Ducks. (Also some clothes and cash thrown in there.)  And check out my baking masterpiece: two layer banana cake, with chocolate frosting and sliced bananas in the middle, covered in freshly whipped cream.) Yum...

Above you can see the curtains my mom made for us once my parents realized that people can see straight through our blinds when we have the lights on at night.  Take that, creepers!  And you can also see the flowers they got me still looking beautiful on our coffee table!
