Valentine's Day Our Way

As promised, here are some photos of mine and Brandon's first married Valentine's Day.  Our little celebration involved:

Small but sweet presents. (Brandon gave me the DVD of Beauty and the Beast and a homemade card.  I gave him a box of chocolates and a maroon cardigan with brown leather elbow patches to add to his professorial wardrobe.)

My first attempt at Mastering the Art of French Cooking.  (A grocery store outing + a couple of hours in the kitchen = Bifteck Saute Marchand de Vins, Gratin Dauphinois, and Petits Pois Frais a l'Anglaise. Fancy fancy! Can't wait to try more recipes!  I'm feeling so original right now, maybe I'll even start a blog where you can read my journey as I cook through the whole cookbook... Juuuust kidding...)

 

Most importantly, Brandon thought my cooking adventure was a tremendous success! We enjoyed our dinner accompanied by candlelight, French wine, and the Breakfast at Tiffany's soundtrack on vinyl.  :)

Top that off with some Valentine's cupcakes and a couple of movies on the couch, and it was time to call it a night! Valentine's Day 2011--  Check!
