In an effort to catch up on the Interior Design Bingo photo challenge after the weekend, here are my photos from Day Five and Day Six. For "Family," I photographed a large canvas we have hanging in our hall. It's a professional portrait of Brandon and I, with our parents and brothers, on our wedding day. I have always wanted to get a photo blown up into a gallery style canvas, and now that I did, I just love it. It's such a warm reminder of our family, and this has been especially special to us while living three thousand miles from home.
To represent "A Cozy Space," I photographed our couch. We picked it out together at Macy's in the whirlwind couple of weeks in between our wedding and our big move. It's amazing how something like a piece of furniture can become a refuge. Our current living situation has a very temporary feel to it and sometimes can feel chaotic, especially since it's too small for our stuff. When we first moved in here, we designated a little area as our "living room" and arranged our couch, coffee table, and TV there. We've made a commitment to keep this little area clean, organized, and free from clutter. Some of our best memories in this past year have been made on that couch; cuddling up with blankets in the winter, relaxing, watching movies, and just having some great conversations. That is what I call a cozy space! (I'd definitely like to collect a few more throw pillows though!) :)
