I love admiring beautiful homes and when this historic property came on the market, I knew I had to share. Eothen (meaning "from the east") is the name of this 30-acre oceanfront compound located in Montauk and once famously owned by Andy Warhol. The estate on the property was built in the 1930's by the Church family, of the Arm & Hammer baking soda fortune. Warhol later purchased the property and entertained a host of famous guests there including Jackie Onassis, Mick Jagger, Elizabeth Taylor and John Lennon.
The compound consists of a 5.7 acre estate, a 24 acre equestrian facility, two restored barns, stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and rugged cliffs, and six individual guest cottages meticulously restored by architect Thierry Despont. Since 2007, the property has been owned by Mickey Drexler, CEO of J.Crew, who is responsible for many of its stylish updates. It just hit the market, newly available to one extremely lucky buyer. Anyone want to lend me $85 million dollars?
